Immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of content as you explore LGBTQ+ contributions to science, culture, and the natural world. From captivating performances to cutting-edge space visualizations, this event promises to be a fusion of learning, entertainment, and Pride.

6-7 pm: Happy Hour- Grab a drink and mingle with the AMNH PRIDE group, a resource group for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies within the Museum community. Explore the Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation’s Solomon Family Insectarium. Learn about the diverse careers of queer scientists and staff at the Museum while taking a peek inside the Museum’s scientific collections across three levels of exhibits. With the Food and Beverage Pairing, gain access to a 6:30 pm presentation by Brooklyn’s own chef Edy Massih and three free specialty cocktails. Born and raised in Lebanon, Chef Edy is inspired by the flavors and colors of the Middle East. In 2020, he opened Edy’s Grocer, the only LGBTQ+ owned market in North Brooklyn supplying the community with Middle Eastern mezze, prepared foods, and groceries.

7-8 pm: STEM Trivia with Math Diva Kyne Santos- Kyne is a drag performer, author, mathematics communicator, and a contestant from Season 1 of Canada’s Drag Race. After Drag Race, Kyne became a popular figure on social media, attracting over 800,000 followers on TikTok with a series of math tutorials presented in drag. Kyne’s math tutorials are inspired both by a desire to present math in a fun and entertaining way, and by a desire to break down barriers, including countering common stereotypes that LGBTQ+ people cannot succeed in math and science.

Between each round of trivia, hear Museum scientists share their stories of breaking barriers, making waves in their fields, and how they got to where they are today.

8:30-9:30 pm: Beyond the Zodiac After Party with OpenSpace- Join DJ Niara Sterling and OpenSpace Developer Micah Acinapura for an after-hours party with live piloting through the universe courtesy of OpenSpace.
