Directors Leah DeAbreu-Goodwill, Shakira DeAbreu, and Carolyn Cherry Guide a Dynamic Ensemble in This Transformative Theatrical Experience

“The Children’s Legacy” takes audiences on a dream-like journey through African American history, following a group of African youngsters from the age of African Kingdoms through pre-slavery and emancipation to present day. Through the guidance of a traditional West African Griot (storyteller), the production connects modern youth with their ancestral roots while addressing contemporary challenges including education, violence, and social justice.
