The Moth: Community StorySlam
The Moth Community StorySLAM is a noncompetitive, open-mic storytelling event in which anyone can share a 5 min story on the night’s theme. Entry is free – come to enjoy the show or for the chance to put your name in the hat to tell a true, personal story, live without notes!
Prepare a five-minute story on the theme of Shadows, from the nostalgic to the nightmarish. Shifting silhouettes in fading light. Dreamlike memories and unforgettable faces. The murky and mysterious, the paranoid and paranormal.
Prior to the slam, Moth instructors will host two workshops offering guidance, techniques, and practice on the craft of storytelling.
Workshop 1: Oct 1, 6-7:30PM
Workshop 2: Oct 8, 2-3:30PM
The Moth Community Engagement team partners with community organizations, cultural institutions and non-profits to host workshops and events that inspire confidence and self-reflection and deepen connections within and between communities.
This program is recommended for teens and adults.
